A Comparison of Cs-137 and X-ray Sources as Calibration References for Thermoluminescent Dosimeter Chips
Historically, calibration of thermoluminescent dosimeter chips has used an X-ray combined with a calibrated reference instrument. This process, however, is tedious and expensive. A solution is to calibrate the chips using commercial Cs-137, a naturally occurring radioactive gamma ray source.
