With family and work commitments, deadlines, and planning for next year, we often get very busy. With that in mind, I want to take a moment to say a special thank you to all the members of CRPA who volunteer for extra duties.<\/p>\n<p>As a member of the CRPA Board of Directors, I am honoured and humbled to work with the dedicated and enthusiastic group that the members have elected. The board members sacrifice time in their busy schedules to help steer the organization and pay close attention to operational details while managing the many committees that support CRPA\u2019s strategic goals. Then there is a small army of volunteers who serve on the committees!<\/p>\n<p>There are four main committees:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional Development<\/li>\n<li>Communications<\/li>\n<li>Internal Affairs<\/li>\n<li>External Affairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each committee is chaired by a director and many have their own subcommittees. These committees vary in size and activity. The committees and subcommittees offer unique opportunities for members to contribute to the organization while strengthening their knowledge or improving special skills.<\/p>\n<p>Members often bring unique knowledge, expertise, or interests that help lighten the committee workload or provide a new perspective. A good example is our Translation Committee, which translates all official CRPA documents into both official languages. Their work requires a number of volunteers to ensure reasonable turnaround times and high-quality translations.<\/p>\n<p>Many of our committee members are former CRPA board members, but others are newer to the organization. Serving on one of the committees is a great way to help support CRPA while building a network of professional colleagues in the radiation protection world. One example is the local organizing committees for the annual CRPA conference. Having a successful conference is no small undertaking, and each year we are fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteers to provide the attention to detail required.<\/p>\n<p>We have a broad range of committees that require a diverse group of volunteers\u2014Recruitment, Professional Development, Communications (particularly web support), the <em>Bulletin<\/em> . . . There are committees of all types. So, thank you to all the volunteers who serve on our committees and subcommittees!<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in participating on a committee, or would like more information, please contact one of your CRPA board members, a committee chair, or the CRPA Secretariat.<\/p>\n<p>Have a great holiday season and prosperous 2019!<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<div class='content-column one_half last_column'><div style=\"padding-left:10px;\"><div style=\"padding: 0 0 0 20px; border-left: #dddddd 1px solid;\">\n<p>Tandis que nous nous pr\u00e9parons \u00e0 l\u2019approche du temps des f\u00eates, cette p\u00e9riode de l\u2019ann\u00e9e est toujours mouvement\u00e9e. Qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse d\u2019engagements avec nos familles ou le travail, d\u2019\u00e9ch\u00e9anciers serr\u00e9s, ou encore de la planification de l\u2019ann\u00e9e qui vient, nous sommes souvent tr\u00e8s occup\u00e9s. Je prends tout de m\u00eame un moment afin de remercier particuli\u00e8rement tous les membres b\u00e9n\u00e9voles de l\u2019ACRP qui n\u2019h\u00e9sitent pas \u00e0 accomplir des t\u00e2ches suppl\u00e9mentaires pour mener \u00e0 bien toutes les activit\u00e9s de l\u2019association.<\/p>\n<p>En tant que membre du conseil d\u2019administration de l\u2019ACRP, je suis honor\u00e9 de travailler parmi un groupe de personnes d\u00e9vou\u00e9es et enthousiastes, \u00e9lues par les membres. En effet, les membres du conseil r\u00e9servent du temps de leurs horaires bien remplis pour aider \u00e0 diriger l\u2019organisation, et accordent une attention particuli\u00e8re aux d\u00e9tails op\u00e9rationnels, tout en supervisant les multiples comit\u00e9s qui r\u00e9pondent aux objectifs strat\u00e9giques de l\u2019ACRP. Enfin, une petite arm\u00e9e de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles si\u00e8ge aux comit\u00e9s dont les quatre principaux sont\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perfectionnement professionnel<\/li>\n<li>Communications<\/li>\n<li>Affaires internes<\/li>\n<li>Affaires externes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Un directeur pr\u00e9side chaque comit\u00e9 qui, lui-m\u00eame, chapeaute plusieurs sous-comit\u00e9s aux tailles et activit\u00e9s variables. Ces comit\u00e9s et sous-comit\u00e9s offrent aux membres une occasion unique de contribuer \u00e0 l\u2019organisation tout en renfor\u00e7ant leurs connaissances et en am\u00e9liorant leurs comp\u00e9tences.<\/p>\n<p>Les membres apportent souvent un bagage, une expertise ou des int\u00e9r\u00eats uniques qui permettent d\u2019all\u00e9ger la charge de travail des comit\u00e9s, en plus de fournir de nouvelles perspectives. Un bon exemple est notre comit\u00e9 de traduction qui traduit tous les documents administratifs de l\u2019ACRP dans les deux langues officielles du pays. Le travail de ce comit\u00e9 n\u00e9cessite un certain nombre de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles afin de garantir des d\u00e9lais d\u2019ex\u00e9cution raisonnables et des traductions de haute qualit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Plusieurs membres de nos comit\u00e9s sont d\u2019anciens membres du conseil de l\u2019ACRP, tandis que d\u2019autres sont nouveaux dans l\u2019organisation. Faire partie d\u2019un comit\u00e9 est un excellent moyen de soutenir l\u2019ACRP, tout en cr\u00e9ant un r\u00e9seau de coll\u00e8gues professionnels de la radioprotection. Un exemple est le comit\u00e9 organisateur local du congr\u00e8s annuel. R\u00e9ussir l\u2019organisation d\u2019un congr\u00e8s n\u2019est pas une mince affaire, et chaque ann\u00e9e nous avons la chance d\u2019avoir l\u2019aide de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles d\u00e9vou\u00e9s pour s\u2019occuper de chaque d\u00e9tail.<\/p>\n<p>Plusieurs de nos comit\u00e9s n\u00e9cessitent l\u2019aide de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles : recrutement, perfectionnement professionnel, communications (particuli\u00e8rement le soutien Web), le <em>Bulletin<\/em>, etc. Il y en a de tous les types.
