Or, le responsable de la radioprotection (RRP) n\u2019utilise pas que des chiffres, il doit aussi ajouter des unit\u00e9s pour quantifier les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s radiologiques de ses \u00e9quations. Ainsi\u00a0:<\/p>\n<p>1 = 1 000\u00a0\u00a0 FAUX\u00a0\u00a0 mais\u00a0\u00a0 1 mSv = 1 000 \u03bcSv\u00a0 VRAI<\/p>\n<p>Pourquoi ce pr\u00e9ambule\u00a0? Parce que les RRP n\u2019utilisent peut-\u00eatre pas assez souvent cette \u00e9quivalence . . .<\/p>\n<p>La r\u00e9glementation en radioprotection a longtemps \u00e9t\u00e9 inspir\u00e9e du secteur de la production nucl\u00e9aire. En effet, dans ce domaine, la <a href=\"https:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/fra\/reglements\/DORS-2000-203\/page-2.html#h-645439\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">valeur de 1 mSv<\/a>, la limite pour le public et les non-TSN<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>, est d\u2019un ordre de grandeur acceptable. Comme les utilisateurs de ces valeurs sont issus de domaines techniques, ils ne sont pas intimid\u00e9s par la d\u00e9cimale!<\/p>\n<p>Toutefois, lorsqu\u2019un titulaire de permis dans le secteur des jauges nucl\u00e9aires rapporte des valeurs de 0,004 mSv pour une op\u00e9ration industrielle donn\u00e9e, on comprend assez vite l\u2019utilisation du 1 000 \u03bcSv\/an au lieu du 1 mSv. Le RRP peut facilement et efficacement rapporter au travailleur la signification relative de cette valeur : 4 \u03bcSv sur une limite de 1000 \u03bcSv en un an.<\/p>\n<p>En tant que professionnel au jargon herm\u00e9tique, le RRP doit se rapprocher du public et de ses coll\u00e8gues en utilisant des chiffres qui r\u00e9sonnent dans leur esprit. Par exemple, si on vous dit que vous avez 1\u00a0000 dollars en poche moins une transaction de 4 dollars, vous comprendrez mieux que si on vous parlait d\u2019un millier de dollars moins une transaction de 4 milli\u00e8mes de cette somme\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Et je n\u2019ai m\u00eame pas abord\u00e9 les conversions d\u2019unit\u00e9s. Il n\u2019y a aucune logique aux conversions de toute fa\u00e7on, que de vieilles habitudes. En effet, qui utilise les degr\u00e9s Celsius en cuisine ou pour l\u2019eau d\u2019une piscine? Sauf les architectes et ing\u00e9nieurs, qui construit en millim\u00e8tres et en m\u00e8tres plut\u00f4t qu\u2019en pouces et en pieds? Pour bien des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations, un blindage de 1,58 mm c\u2019est surtout 1\/16 po. Mais bon, je m\u2019\u00e9loigne du sujet.<\/p>\n<p>Premier truc\u00a0: \u00e9vitez donc les d\u00e9cimales si vous le pouvez, les gens comprennent mieux les chiffres entiers!<\/p>\n<p>Au pire, utilisez les pourcentages : 4 \u03bcSv devient alors \u00ab moins de 1 % de la limite permise \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>(Ha ha!
